EN: Korhan Futacı is an Istanbul-based saxophonist, composer, singer and producer whose work moves freely across jazz, psychedelic rock and Anatolian sounds. A distinctive voice in Turkey’s alternative music scene, he also co-founded the free-jazz group Konstrukt in 2008. His own music channels the restless energy of Istanbul into dark textures, lyrical moments and improvisation with the force of a live ritual. Futacı has performed at festivals and venues across Europe and beyond, including Roskilde, Saalfelden and Café OTO, and has collaborated with artists such as Peter Brötzmann, Evan Parker and Thurston Moore. At TJF, he arrives with his quartet and a sound that resists easy labels.
